The Sint-Idesbaldus church in the Belgian seaside resort of Sint-Idesbald was originally a monastery church and now serves as a parish church.
The Sint-Idesbaldus church was put into use as a monastery church in 1935, replacing the role of the Keunekapel, which had become too small for the ever-increasing influx of tourists. For this, Albert Lust was appointed as the architect. It is not surprising that this church resembles a villa, as Lust was primarily known for the many villas he designed in the early part of the 20th century. Its tower bears striking similarities to that of the hunting lodge Sint-Hubertus by H.P. Berlage. The church became a parish church in 1967. In 2008, the adjoining monastery was demolished to make way for Residentie Kloosterhof. In 2009, the church was fully restored and its exterior was painted white.
