At Prins Karellaan no. 11 "Les Arondes," architect F. Van Averbeke realized a fine example of "soft" modernism in 1928. One should actually imagine the villa with a flat roof, and then one obtains a very modern construction. Also, pay attention to the way the difference in level between the street and the door sill was solved. Across the street, we notice a new construction that is neither modern nor traditional.
