One of the most modern churches in Belgium, a cathedral of light (1958-1965), built according to the plans of architect J. Lantsoght from Bruges, height 40 m (tip of the cross). Roof crown by artist blacksmith Antoon Viaene. Main altar and figure of Christ by M. Witdouck, 752 m² stained glass windows in abstract style designed by J. Lefèvre and Fr. Kinnen from Luxembourg. Concrete glass of the entrance doors (210 m²) work by Gabriël Loire from Chartres. Baptismal font in ceramic by R. Vandeweghe. Sister Brigitte Loire from Chartres carved the statue of Our Lady. Paschal triduum and Christmas retable by Wim Van Peteghem.
In 1999, the church was closed for a few months due to restoration and renewal works.
The interior and exterior lighting was completely modernized, as well as the sound system. The church has 1285 new chairs.
