On the corner of Spokenhofstraat is a house in traditional brick and sandstone style (ridge parallel to the street), from the first quarter of the 17th century. Implantation within a rectangular moat (over a brick bridge) and a hedged domain. The name Spokenhof is apparently a deformation of Sompekenhof. Spokenhof was located on the territory of the mother homestead of Scille, while the opposite farm Capenbergh was located on the territory of the mother homestead of Sombeke. These mother homesteads were already mentioned in 1362. Mentioned in 1595 as a playhouse with farm, so-called "Capenbergh". According to Schobbens, it would be the remains of the feudal castle of the Sombeke family, for which no evidence was found. In 1556 (?) the two mother estates passed to the same owner and thus both remained dependent on the cijnshof van Sombeke (dependent on Saint Bavo's Abbey, Ghent) and on the lord of Boechout. The date 1610 (wall anchor moved to the east side of the extension) suggests that Capenbergh was built by G. Fredericx who bought the court in 1598. The coat of arms (skylight) refers to knight Albert Roose (1676-1707). From 1707 until the second half of the 19th century it was owned by the Labistrate family, hence the name Labistratenhof in the 19th century. Restored and rebuilt by the current owner after 1963 (mainly an extension).
