This site is located opposite St. Sixtus Abbey. Yes, the home of the coveted Trappist Westvleteren. In fact, the Trappist brothers only sell their beer to private individuals, so this is the only catering business where you can just order a glass of Westvleteren to taste. Divine enjoyment in the shadow of the St. Sixtus bee! Of all Belgian beers, there are only 6 that are allowed to bear the honorary title of 'Trappist'. Westvleteren is one of them, so the brewing takes place within the walls of the Trappist abbey. Before you leave, don't forget the shop: local products, Paterskaas and Kruydekoecke are waiting for you together with the Trappists so that you can continue to enjoy the pleasures of 'In de Vrede' at home!
