The Tangebeek forest made the news in 2021 due to a criminal act. A pipeline runs under the forest. Three men siphoned off liters of gas oil from the exposed pipeline. At least a bold undertaking. The theft was quickly detected because pressure reductions in pipelines are immediately noticed.
