The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Tournai is the cathedral of the diocese of Tournai. It is distinguished by its five towers of equal height. This Romanesque cathedral was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000. It is dedicated to Notre-Dame.
With its 134 meters in length, the cathedral is one of the largest churches in Belgium. From an architectural standpoint, it is one of the most important buildings in Belgium, a precursor to Romanesque art with many elements that would dominate the Gothic period. As far as is known, it has never been possible to match the harmonious statue with the five towers of equal height.
