Description

The Kemmelberg is regularly used as an obstacle in a Flemish cycling classic. But in the famous version of Gent-Wevelgem in 2007, things went quite wrong. A number of falls during the descent of this obstacle resulted in an unprecedented number of fractures and injuries. Here's an overview of the medical report:

Jimmy Casper: wrist, jaw and cheekbone fracture,; tear in upper lip and tongue
Wim De Vocht: thumb fracture and abrasions
Marco Velo: collarbone and knee fracture; two broken ribs
Matthew Wilson: wrist fracture
James Vanlandschoot: broken elbow, thumb and wrist
Tylers Farrar: Broken Kneecap
Andy Cappelle: Shoulder Crack and Broken Elbow
Mathew Hayman: elbow fracture
