The Corsendonck brewery has a rich past. Already from the foundation in 1398, the monastery of Corsendonck in Oud-Turnhout was an important brewery and malt house. In addition to making beer, the monks were also engaged in copying books and teaching the bjbel. During the French Revolution, Corsendonk's property was confiscated. In the 19th century, Florentius Keersmaekers restarted the beer tradition of Corsendonck. The brewery is still in the hands of his family.
