Description

Nieuwenhove Castle is one of the many castles in the Castle area south of Ghent. This area was classified as a landscape. The Noord-dreef from the Rijvisschestraat, opposite the façade of the castle, ends at an empire entrance gate, said to have come from one of the Ghent city gates. It has a beautiful iron fence between bluestone pillars of bundled spears with crowning cast-iron laurel wreaths with bows and ornate wrought-iron wing pieces.
