Originally built in 1789 as an oil mill and from the late 19th century a grain mill. The mill had to be demolished in 1996 for various construction-related reasons. Thanks to the support of the Flemish Community, East Flanders Province, the municipal council of Brakel, and the owners Mr. and Mrs. Frank De Moor-Els Lecluse, a faithful copy of the former mill has been reconstructed. When the blue pennant flutters on top of the mill, you are warmly welcome for a tour with expert explanations by the miller. Every last Sunday of the month, between 1 PM and 5 PM, various types of freshly ground flour are sold at democratic prices. Under the current measures, it’s best to order in advance via their website.
