Corner building of two storeys, built in 1761 to a design by architect David 't Kindt (Ghent). Original floor plan approximately square with at the front a double central staircase with two side bays (without the two reversing right bays, added in 1863) and on the side façade three bays (extended to seven in 1863). Plastered and painted framed facades with strongly raised ground floor on bluestone plinth with arched cellar windows, and French joints on the piers, under mansard roof (slates). Symmetrical façade with pseudo-middle risalite of two bays, preceded by a wide flared bluestone double landing staircase with forged iron fence of J. Delmotte (Brussels); Linked doors in richly profiled mirror-arched bluestone frame with noses, stretched sills, decorated keystones and forged iron fans. On the upper floor a bluestone balcony on three rocaille consoles and with a forged iron fence. As a crowning achievement, a helmet-shaped pediment with forged iron astrolabe and supported by rocaille motifs between which the coat of arms of the city of Lokeren (lattice, attribute of Saint Lawrence, with Wase turnip above); two kidney-shaped oculi between whimsical seed beads. All windows are arched and have a profiled bluestone course with decorated keystone. The dormers were added after enlargement.
