As the eastern boundary of the Martelarenplein, the station of Leuven, built from 1876 to 1879, describes an elongated rectangular floor plan and a broad central main building in elevation with two corner pavilions, each with two stories and a protruding facade section of three bays under a gable roof, connected by two single-story wings with four bays under a gabled roof.
