In the 19th century, a family from an unknown Limburg village arrived here in Ougrée: the family of the now-famous Walloon politician Laurette Onkelinx. Her grandfather Maurice Onkelinx was during the Second World War alderman (from 1941) and acting mayor ('war mayor') (from 1943) of Jeuk.
