Forêt is a place and district of the Belgian municipality of Trooz, located in the province of Liège. The place Trooz is situated in the district of Forêt. The place Prayon is also located in this district, as well as the hamlet of Fonds-de-Forêt. Until January 1, 1977, Forêt was an independent municipality. Forêt traditionally belonged to the Carolingian Domain of Jupille and since 1288 to the Principality of Liège. In 1745, Trooz was separated as an independent lordship and issued in 1759.
