Monstreux is a place and district of the Belgian municipality of Nivelles. Monstreux is located in the province of Walloon Brabant and was an independent municipality until January 1, 1977. There was also an ancient oak tree in Monstreux, but it was set on fire by a vandal in 1919. There were five watermills on the Thines. Only one remains, namely the Moulin Jacquet in the center of the village. One of the millers was P.J. Oreins in 1778. He was part of an important milling family in the Pajottenland.
