Hostellerie Kemmelberg - From Mount Kemmel

Hostellerie Mont Kemmel is a magnificent panorama hotel located in the quiet nature park at the top of the Kemmelberg. This authentic country house was established in 1954 by Baron Jacques Bruneel de la Warande and is operated as a family mountain hotel. It is just a 10-minute drive from the center of the historic city of Ypres (In Flanders Fields Museum, Menin Gate, Vauban fortifications, …) and a popular stop-over place for those traveling to southern France or through “The Chunnel”.

The hotel features a gastronomic restaurant (listed in the Gault & Millau and Michelin guides) serving fine, seasonal French cuisine with contemporary touches. Guests can enjoy a cocktail or other drinks in the more casual bar, lounge, or on the sheltered terraces. All these spaces offer an unforgettable view of the French-Flemish plain.

The generous breakfast buffet with bubbles is served in the lounge with a fireplace.

The hotel has 23 rooms, each with its own bath and/or shower, minibar, WiFi, bathrobes/slippers, etc. There are both ECO(logical) rooms of 15 m² available and large luxury junior suites with separate rain showers and modern jacuzzis of more than 50 m².

The hotel has the international eco-label “The Green Key”.

The boutique hotel and its dynamic team have received several awards: an "Award of Excellence 2020" from Booking.com (8.7/10) and a "2019 Travellers' Choice" from Trip Advisor (HMK is in the top 25 of small hotels in Belgium). On April 28, 2015, it also received the international quality mark "The Green Key" and on June 22, 2015, the quality label Q-label ("Quality Service" label) from Westtoer. This last one was renewed for another 3 years: 2018-2019-2020, at the beginning of June 2018.

HMK's kitchen team offers classic French dishes with a contemporary touch. They prefer high-quality products sourced from their own region. We organize your banquets (wedding receptions, communion parties, ...), club meetings, corporate gatherings (seminars, product presentations, ...), and so on. We have various banquet/meeting rooms available for this purpose.

The hotel is open 7 days a week. Our gastronomic restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The bar and terraces are open when the hotel is open. For groups, we are happy to deviate from our normal closing days. Please contact us in advance.
