The Sint-Dimpna Church (1349-1479), located just a kilometer from the market square, is a remarkable monument whose tower (1454-1585) was never completed. The church is a beautiful example of demar Gothic architecture. Moreover, it boasts a unique interior. Various valuable retables and the Renaissance tomb of the de Merode family are the main attractions.
Originally built as a pilgrimage church, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and important reminders of the unique past of the Barmhartige Stede. According to legend, Saint Dimpna and her confessor Gerebernus were buried at this site.
