Bike ride: In the footsteps of the bleeding host
The Holy Sacrament of Mirakel – better known as the bleeding host of Herkenrode – has been preserved since the miracle in 1317 in Viversel (Heusden-Zolder) at various locations: in Lummen, the abbey of Herkenrode, and finally the Saint-Quintinus Cathedral in Hasselt. The bike ride with brochure takes you along all the places where people expressed their faith in the miracle.

The incredible events in which the Virga Jesse miraculously assisted the people of Hasselt are part of our heritage, although everyone gives them a different meaning. The theater companies De Banneuxkes and Toneelschimpen will tour Hasselt and bring the miracles and experiences to life for the audience once more. workshop: CJP brings Heritage Day to the lens of the camera!
30 young people aged between 16 and 26 are roaming through Hasselt today with the goal of capturing Heritage Day on camera. After a crash course, they will spread out across the city under the guidance of professional photographers and start clicking away with this year’s theme, FAKE!
