The original church dates back to the 12th century. Over the years, however, it has been rebuilt and rebuilt several times. The interior of the church is decorated with valuable works of art such as the 16th-century Tower of the Blessed Sacrament, paintings from the Rubens School and the pulpit from the 17th century. In the church tower is the first full-fledged carillon of Kortrijk from the 19th century.
