Every 10 years (2010, 2020, 2030...), the great Ros Beiaard Ommegang is held on the Grote Markt. On this occasion, the Ros Beiaard comes out of his stable and this only happens every 10 years. Did you know that the 4 "Aymon sons" who sit on the horse had to be from Dendermonde? They must, moreover, have been born consecutively without the birth of a daughter between them. The folklore surrounding this event has been recognized by UNESCO and is on the World Heritage List.
