The VRT tower is an incredible construction: the shaft was built using climbing formwork, and the superstructure of 5,000 tons, which was constructed on the ground, was hoisted on cables. The VRT tower is a telecommunications tower, on which the receivers and transmitters are located. The tower was planned in 1963 and was the subject of five successive drafts; the latter, in 1977, was carried out four years later. The 89 meter high tower is made of reinforced concrete and rests on a 9 meter deep foundation.
