This country house (not accessible) was built in 1850 in late classical style as a hunting lodge for the wealthy Hasselt gin distiller Paul Jacobs-Stellingwerff. It is located at the lowest point of Lummen. Hence the name "Lagendal". For a long time, this castle housed a Michelin-starred restaurant called 'Kasteel Saint Paul'. In 2005, the de Chaumenton family sold the castle to the Verbeeck family from Tessenderlo. This family currently resides in the castle. Surrounding the castle is a large park of about 9 hectares with a relatively formal garden featuring a striking round pond. The park is completely surrounded by a moat and a rampart. Remarkable is the cluster of hornbeam trees that stands in the park.
