Located at the southern corner of the castle, as was commonly found in castle estates. When in 1972, after the demolition of the old chapel of Our Lady of Comfort, excavation began for the foundations of the new chapel, it was discovered that there was an even older chapel beneath the ground. This was excavated and preserved so that we find this crypt in the chapel.
