Is a recognized nature reserve. It used to be part of a vast peatland that was formed in the north of the Waasland around 3,000 BC. The nature reserve, with an opp. Of 2.7 ha, about half consists of a low-lying, flat section with ditches, which indicates the extraction of peat. For the other half, it consists of a high-altitude sparse grassland, with flowery vegetation.
