The station of Beveren-Waas was put into service on 26 February 1845 and is located on railway line 59. In the early years there was only a connection between Sint-Niklaas and the Vlaams Hoofd (Antwerp) but soon this railway line grew further towards Ghent and eventually further to Ostend. In the first phase, the station consisted of a smaller building that was replaced by the current station building in 1902. The building consists of a central section and two short side wings. The station was also located next to the gasworks, which had its own access track for the supply of coal.
