This bluestone stake chapel was popularly called 'Ter Helle' because of the distance to the church, market and station. This is one of the original 7 almost identical bluestone chapels, which were located on an old pilgrimage route of seven woes. During the days of the cross, this chapel, dedicated to Our Lady, was visited by groups that went clockwise around the court of Wilgendam.
