Abbey of Leffe

Description

Just before we enter the famous Dinant, we see to our left the brewery of the renowned Belgian beer Leffe.

As we look straight ahead to the right, we see across the river the Tour de Creve-Coeur (Tower of the Broken Heart). This tower was built in 1320 and named in memory of three brave maidens who, after witnessing their husbands fall in battle, preferred to throw themselves from the former fortress walls of the castle rather than be surrendered to the enemy.
