and chapel and was originally called Hof te Steenberg. The current closed farmhouse, with rectangular
The courtyard dates from the 2nd half of the 18th century. This arable farm cultivates on the rich
sandy loam soils, especially cereals, sugar beet and potatoes.
The name "Spanjaardshof" comes from the seigneury of Steenberg, of which the farm, together with a castle, a chapel and a water mill was part and was in the possession of Don Diego-Fernandez de Velasco at the end of the XVI.
