Foundation from the first quarter of the 16th century, by Mathijs van Steenberck, pastor of Londerzeel, after his return from the Holy Land; he would have measured the Way of the Cross there to later establish it in Londerzeel over exactly the same distance, with a chapel for each station, the last one on Calvary brought together in a larger chapel with late Gothic features, the so-called Bergkapel or colloquially known as Paaskapel.
