The visitor center De Klapekster is located in the former itinerant farmer's farm, in the heart of Wortel-Kolonie. In the Jan Spannenburg Museum - a tribute to one of the pioneers of nature conservation in the Northern Kempen - you can learn more about the fascinating history of the estate and the numerous nature reserves in the border region. There are regularly interesting themed exhibitions. De Klapekster serves as an ideal base for your walking or cycling trip in the estate. You will find brochures about the marked walks (3 or 11 km) and you can enjoy a drink there after your trip. The educational packages look very original: from a family search for the homes of birds, mammals, and amphibians to a trek with a backpack full of materials to explore nature.
