The Ghent City Museum STAM tells you the story of Ghent through a chronological route of objects and multimedia. You are always referred back to the city itself, because in the end, that is the masterpiece of the museum.
In addition, there are also temporary exhibitions: these make the concept of 'urbanity' comprehensible and show time and again in different ways what makes a city a city.
The museum is housed in the 14th-century Bijloke Abbey - the buildings themselves are worth a visit. In the STAM café, you can catch your breath and get a snack or something to drink.
