In the heart of the Sonian Forest, near the bridge of Groenendaal, you will find a fully-fledged and modern forest museum set up on the initiative of the Ministry of the Flemish Community. The Forest and Greenery department, Houtvesterij Groenendaal, which is responsible for the management of the surrounding Sonian Forest, also takes care of this forest museum. Anyone who wishes to do so can be guided through the world of the forest and its inhabitants, and become acquainted with the principles of forest management. Due to its unique location, the forest museum is an ideal base for walks and bike rides through the largest deciduous forest in Flanders. Numerous educational activities are organised.
