Lier is located at a junction of three Nethens. Felix Timmermans wrote about this: ‘where the three winding Nethens form a silver knot’. In this unique landscape, you can enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and leisure boating. Be sure to stop for a delicious bite or drink in the center of Lier. The little Net city has plenty of charm. Take a stroll in the atmospheric beguinage, an oasis of peace. Like the Gothic bell tower in the Grote Markt, it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the Zimmermuseum, you will learn about the genius Lier clockmaker and astrologer Louis Zimmer. During a boat trip in an old eel barge on the Binnennete, you will discover even more picturesque corners. On the many terraces, you can enjoy a local beer or a Liers vlaaike with the Pallieters.
