The new landscape park was opened in 2010.
The Dischveld originates in the fact that these lands were donated to the dis, the poor table or the table of the Holy Spirit. In the 17th and 18th centuries, bread was distributed to the poor on Sundays.
This former Dischveld is located between the Veldkapelle, the Brandstraat, 't Wingens Veld Sint-Jan, the former Beierhage and the castle De Roo. The grounds of castle 'Goed Gallatas', which for centuries was owned by the Della Faille family and later the Kerckhove d'Ousselgem, are close to the landscape park.
