When the building on Aalterstraat became too small, Piano’s Maene moved to Industriestraat 5 in 1998. Ten years later, it turned out that this business site was also too small, leading to the workshop and showroom moving again to a larger location at Industriestraat 42. With 5200 m², Piano’s Maene is now one of the largest piano centers in Europe. The former piano shop on Aalterstraat now houses the unique instrument collection of Chris Maene, which is available for viewing upon request.
Since 2002, Piano’s Maene has been the exclusive distributor for the renowned Steinway & Sons. In addition, the company is the largest distributor of the Japanese brands Kawai and Yamaha in Belgium. In 1994, Piano’s Maene opened a second store in Brussels, and in 2001, the company took over an existing piano shop in Ghent. Brussels serves the French-speaking region and increasingly reaches an international audience. Both Ruiselede and Brussels also have their own concert hall where concerts are regularly held.
