At the end of the 19th century, the chapel of St. Anthony was built on the corner of Dorpsstraat and Goedestraat, right in front of O.L.Heerestraat. The chapel was built by Edward De Wit shortly after 1885 together with his farm. St. Anthony's Chapel is a small, simple field chapel built in brick. She is painted white. The ridge roof is covered with tiles. Saint Anthony the Eremite is the patron saint of Meerbeek and the legend of the fight between Saint Anthony and capelin is also connected to this chapel.
