The spacious mansion at a former brewery in the back, built by order of brewer V. Standaert in 1893, occupies a striking place in the village buildings. Cool example in Kaprijke of residential architecture with a richly detailed façade decoration in eclectic style, inspired by the Flemish Renaissance with picturesque top façade, sculptural arch filling of the windows and ornamental anchors and balcony above the door. The sober decoration of the interior from the construction period has been appropriately renovated, while retaining the marble fireplaces and rosette ceilings.
