Mansion Voorstraat 52, Kaprijke

The terraced house is a well-preserved and only example in the municipality of a mansion with a pronounced and richly carved façade architecture in classicist style from the end of the 18th century. The characteristic plastered and white-painted framed façade with two striking Ionic colossal pilasters to delineate the three central bays, has in the central bay a striking round arched door with ornate tracery, in the skylight encased in a rectangular profiled frame with cornice. Fluted pilasters and consoles, and mirror panels with rosette decoration are peculiar to this style expression.
