To reach this church, you take a lovely linden avenue that, after prior damage, was fortunately restored in 2009. The Our Lady of La Salette Church is the parish church of Louise-Marie, a hamlet on the border of Maarkedal and Ronse. The parish of Louise-Marie was established around 1850 from the natural, social, and geographical connections of residents from the municipalities of Ellezelles, Ronse, Nukerke, Schorisse, and Etikhove.
The first stone of the church was laid in 1850. The fact that the first Belgian queen, Louise Marie of Orléans, died on the day of the laying of the church's cornerstone may explain the name of the parish Louise-Marie, although this cannot be stated with certainty. The church was consecrated in 1853 but underwent several renovations afterward. The bell tower, in neo-Romanesque style, dates from 1899.
The church has an organ from 1864, built by Maximilien Van Peteghem from the well-known family of church organ builders.
