The Lefebvre brewery was founded in 1876. In that year, Jules Lefebvre, gamekeeper, farmer, innkeeper and malt processor, inaugurated his new brewery. In the vicinity of the neighbouring purple quarries, inns were opened where the numerous stonemasons, who easily got dry throats due to their hard work, could come and quench their thirst.
