In 1928, Antoine Courtens, a pupil of Victor Horta, designed the Haerens mansion, one of his first major achievements. He was an architect, decorator and furniture designer and the most important representative of Art Deco in Brussels.
This corner house was commissioned by Robert Haerens, an engineer who worked for the Empain group.
