At the instigation of the chairman of the church factory, Victor Dufays, professor of civil engineering at the University of Leuven, architects Léon Guiannotte and André Watteyne began construction of the Saint Augustine Church in Vorst in 1928.
The church is located at the Hoogte-Honderd square in Vorst and was consecrated in 1936. The eight streets of the neighborhood lead up to the church building.
The church is constructed of reinforced concrete and is considered a characteristic example of the revival of religious architecture in the interwar period.
