The Abbey of Val-Notre-Dame is a former abbey located west of Antheit, not far from Huy.
This abbey was founded in 1180 when Count Albert III of Moha established a Cistercian abbey at the site of Val de Rodum. The abbey, founded from the Abbey of Hocht, was situated in the valley of the Mehaigne. This abbey flourished greatly in the 13th century, but from the 14th to the 16th century, during a time of much warfare, it was destroyed and fell into disrepair. However, between the 17th and 19th centuries, the abbey was rebuilt. In 1789, however, the abbey was disbanded by the French and its possessions were publicly sold. The abbey church was demolished, and the abbey buildings were converted into a castle.
