The headquarters of the Belgian Army was located in the town hall during the crucial Battle of the IJzer. King Albert I also had his command post in the building, untill January 1915. In October 1914 the possible flooding of the IJzer plain was discussed here with Karel Cogge.
Open daily from 10.00 to 17.00. Closed on 21 and 28 October and on 1, 4 and 12 November 2012.
Entrance fee: €3 / 6-12 years: €2 / Groups (min. 15 persons): €2 pp. From 1 April to 15 November daily guided visits.
