Nothing remains of the original Romanesque church from around 1100. The current Neo-Gothic church building and the church furnishings date from 1900. Only the baptismal font dates from 1619 and was a gift from Israël Jansens, Inghelsman and Master of the Zuydtleye (responsible for the navigation diggers). In the cemetery around the church, you will find several interesting tomb monuments such as the restored funerary chapel de Vrière and various noble and other tomb monuments. Opposite the church, on Hoornstraat, lies the 19th-century walled rectory.
