Castle de Cellen is a castle located between the centers of Oostkamp and Erkegem, at Kapellestraat 113.
This site was only established in the second half of the 18th century, and in 1770 it was marked on the map as a plaything. In addition to several standalone buildings, there was also a farm. In the first half of the 19th century, it was owned by the couple Louis de Bie de Westvoorde and Thérèse le Gillon. The villa was converted into a neoclassical mansion. Louis passed away in 1874 and the estate passed to their son Louis-Charles, who had part of it demolished and transformed it into a castle that met the standards of the time, designed by Jozef Schadde. In 1889, among other things, a chapel was also built.
