The premises where the Municipal Academy of Fine Arts is nowadays accommodated used to be the brewer's house. It was the property of Adolphe Lannoy, chairman of the Belgian Brewers, who had it built in 1890.
The house was part of the large brewery complex of the Trois Rois brewery, one of the most important breweries in the area.
In 1966, the entire complex was purchased by the town of Menen. Two years later, the brewery itself - so not the brewer's house - was demolished and replaced by modern studios.
