Here is a monument erected in memory of King Albert I (3rd King of Belgium - reign 23/12/1909 - 17/02/1934).
In the center of the Clairière des Béôlis, a natural stone stele and an engraved plaque commemorate the passages of King Albert I.
It reads: "On the summit where he often lingered, King Albert I stopped for a long time in the autumn of 1933. To his last solitary journey in the heart of our forests"
Albert was a great fan of walking and outdoor sports.
Did he come to hunt in this wood??
