Hageland
Open landscapes, historic farms, and beautiful panoramas are the assets of Hageland, the tourist region that stretches to the east of the provincial capital Leuven. You can breathe in the greenery, get lost among endless rows of fruit trees and sweet grapevines, walk through hollow roads and on sturdy hills.
Between tranquil villages, you will find six ancient provincial towns: Aarschot, Diest, Landen, Scherpenheuvel-Zichem, Tienen, and Zoutleeuw. Stroll through medieval alleys and cozy shopping streets, in enchanting beguinages, past churches and surprising museums.
Tourism Flemish Brabant developed a policy plan for Tourism and Recreation for the tourist region Hageland, in which several important objectives and actions have been outlined for the period 2008-2013.
Green Belt
The Green Belt is the tourist region around Brussels that profiles itself as a green region with a wealth of parks, gardens, and green spots. Together with the unspoiled landscapes, this makes the Green Belt a region where it's surprisingly refreshing, sometimes literally in the shadow of the capital.
The central location of the Green Belt makes the region an ideal destination for day tourism. From the diversity of the three sub-regions Dijleland, Brabantse Kouters, Pajottenland, and Zennevallei, the Green Belt offers a tourist offering in the fields of culture, technology, wellness, local products, and culinary experiences.
